    What is the Gottman Method?:

    An evidence-based model that utilizes a structured therapeutic approach to address conflict patterns, building intimacy and emotional connection, to create shared meaning. Based on the Sound House Theory, the Gottman Method focuses on the nine levels of what it takes to build a healthy relationship

    Issues that may be addressed in therapy while utilizing the Gottman Method:

    • Frequent conflict and arguments
    • Poor communication
    • Couples on the verge of separation, emotionally distanced couples
    • Specific problems such as finances, sexual issues, infidelity, and parenting.

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

    Created by Dr. Sue Johnson, emotion-focused therapy is an evidence-based practice drawing from attachment theory with its primary goal being to focus on creating secure attachment to self and others. Rooted in the science of emotion and attachment, EFT helps those to identify and transform negative processing and interaction patterns that create emotional distress. Its effective in treating individual anxiety and trauma + issues from marital distress. 

    Interventions commonly used by a therapist utilizing the EFT model is helping clients address their strongest concerns, helping clients de-escalate to reduce the feeling of anger and allow underlying emotions to come forward, and help to re-build a deep emotional bond where one feels comfortable to trust and share vulnerabilities.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured goal-oriented treatment modality based in the core principle that our problems are based on learned behaviors that are unhelpful and unhelpful ways of thinking. CBT believes that one can learn better ways of coping with their problems which will provide symptom relief to live more effective lives. CBT treatment includes efforts to change thinking and behavioral patterns by learning one’s distortions, and problem-solving skills with the goal of gaining a greater sense of confidence in one’s own abilities. 

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

    A goal-oriented approach that emphasizes current circumstances with future goals, solution-focused is an evidence-based, short-term therapeutic model that seeks to understand your current happenings and find solutions rather than the cause of the concern. Solution Focused Therapy asks you to identify what you need at this moment to feel back to baseline and challenges you to take action towards your identified baseline.
